A submersible pump is a device that has a hermetically sealed motor close-coupled to the pump body. The entire assembly is submerged directly in the fluid to be pumped.
Unlike surface pumps—which pull or lift water by creating suction—submersible pumps push water to the surface by using pressure. This design makes them highly efficient because they do not waste energy pulling water upward.
