What is the difference between vertical and horizontal openwell pumps?
- Horizontal: Lying flat, it needs less water depth above it to stay fully submerged, making it ideal for shallow sumps and fluctuating water levels.
- Vertical: Stands upright and requires a smaller footprint, but needs a deeper water column to keep the motor cooled.
